FAQ

What is Isotower?

Isotower is a game about building a skyscraper. The goal of the game is up to you, whether you choose to build a 200 floor mega-structure, or a 2 floor hotel. Isotower is inspired by games like Sim Tower and Yoot Tower.

When is Isotower coming out?

Isotower is currently being improved, but you can download the free demo of an older version. As more features get added to the game, the game will move into the Beta stage.

What qualifies as Alpha and Beta releases?

The Alpha release will support the basic feature set of the game. You'll be able to build a tower (to at least floor 30), residents will use elevators and stairs to get around the floors, and have set schedules to arrive and leave the tower. The Beta release will support a plugin system, more room options, a higher floor limit, underground construction, and whatever minor features end up being added. The final release will support a full plugin API, allowing for scripting each room type individually.

How much will Isotower cost?

There will always be a free version that contains most of the features from the Alpha. Buying the game will give you more money and more floors to play with, and will get you early access to new features before the free version. The Alpha version costs $5 USD (think of it as a pre-order), while the Beta version will cost $15 USD, and the full game will be $30 USD.

What platforms will Isotower be on (aka, what is Isotower programmed in)?

Isotower will primarly be a PC release, however a Mac and Linux port are not out of the question, since it uses C++ and SFML, and very little/no OS specific code.

Who is developing Isotower?

Right now, Isotower is being made by the small, one person studio Childhood Dreams, the main, and only, developer being Todd Barchok. At some point in the future, more people might be involved.
